Discover the cultural, historical, and natural treasures surrounding Lake Titicaca on a journey through Peru and Bolivia, featuring ancient archaeological sites, Indigenous traditions, scenic cruises, and immersive cultural experiences.
The journey begins with an overland route from Puno to Copacabana and continues by hydrofoil across Lake Titicaca to Moon Island, Sun Island, and Huatajata. Experiences include the Sun Virgins Temple, Inca Grand Stairs and Sacred Fountain, the Andean Roots Eco Village, encounters with Andean camelids, and the mystical traditions of the Kallawayas. The following day explores Kalauta Island, ancient Chullpas, the Urus Iruitos Floating Islands, the Quewaya Sustainable Project, and Aymara cosmology at the Native Observatory Alajpacha. The final day crosses the Bolivian High Plateau to Tiwanaku, with its ancient Sun Gate, Temple of Kalasasaya, and Pyramid of Akapana, before continuing to La Paz.

The itinerary
Day 1 · Huatajata
Puno - Copacabana - Sun Island - Huatajata
Upon arrival, you will be warmly met by a representative, who will provide assistance and transfer to your accommodation to check-in. Activities: • Overland journey from Puno to Copacabana, located at the shores of Lake Titicaca. • Once in Copacabana, visit the shrine and the Dark Indian Virgin. Hydrofoil cruise to Moon Island, visit the Sun Virgins Temple “Iñak Uyu”. • Continue to Sun Island. Visit the Inca “Grand Stairs” and the Sacred Fountain; taste the water believed to give eternal youth and happiness. • Lunch at the Uma Kollu archaeological Restaurant; Visit the small handicraft market. • Hydrofoil cruise to Huatajata. • On arrival, visit the Andean Roots Eco Village: The Altiplano Museum; Handicrafts village, the Mud Igloos and the mortuary towers of the Urus Chipayas. • Meet the Limachi family, builders of the RA II and Tigris for epic expeditions across the Atlantic Ocean. • Enjoy our elegant vicuñas, llamas, alpacas and the mythical Suri. • Audiovisual and night experience of “The Mystic World of the Kallawayas”, natural healers of Bolivia. They believe that you first have to heal the soul in order to heal your body. Tata Benjo, – our Kallawaya – will bless visitors and answer questions by casting his sacred coca leaves. Huatajata - Kalauta Island - Huatajata
Activities: • Hydrofoil cruise to the Kalauta Island. Visit the ruins of an ancient stone Village and one of the largest Necropolis in the area with its mysterious Chullpas mortuary towers; some of them with 2 and 3 floors. Enjoy a navigation on Lake Titicaca, swinging among totora-reed canals to reach the Urus Iruitos Floating Islands & Quewaya Sustainable Project, a rescue of an over 5.000 years old culture and a social project created to assure their survival. Enjoy a breathtaking view of the Royal Range of the Andes. • Typical lunch: the Aptapi is one of the most interesting “sharing” expressions of the Andes Indigenous communities, since it is a ritual meal where everybody participates, contributing with different kind of food. • Return to Huatajata. • By night visit the Native Observatory Alajpacha. Learn from the Aymaras Cosmovision and watch the southern constellations. Overnight: Huatajata – (B, L)

Huatajata - La Paz
Activities: Crossing the Bolivian High Plateau, arrive to the archaeological site of Tiwanaku (1.580 BC-1.000 AD). These magnificent ruins of Bolivia belong to one of the oldest civilizations in the Americas. The Sun Gate, the Temple of Kalasasaya and the Pyramid of Akapana are the sample of a glorious past. Tiwanaku culture was an agrarian based economy with an estimated population of 115.000 inhabitants.
