Overview
India is the trip you take twice. The first visit covers the Golden Triangle — Delhi, Agra, Jaipur — perhaps with Varanasi added. The second goes deeper: Rajasthan beyond Jaipur, Kerala's backwaters, the Himalayan north, or the temple coast of Tamil Nadu.
Our India specialist has worked with the same Delhi-based ground operator since 2004. The guides are not generalists; each city is staffed by a local expert who can answer the question after the question.
We don't recommend trying to do all of India in one trip. The country rewards staying in one region long enough to feel it.
