The itinerary

1. Day 1 · Buenos Aires

   Arrive Buenos Aires

   Upon arrival at airport in Argentina, you will be warmly met by a representative, who will provide assistance and transfer to your accommodation to check-in. Activities: • We will hand out a guide which points out the most important museums of the city and the exhibitions taking place during your stay. • In the afternoon, City Tour of The Fine Arts in Time, starting in La Recoleta, one of the most elegant and sophisticated districts. • We will start with the namesake cementery , once through the doors of this colossal necropolis, which occupies four blocks and houses, we’ll be forced to discredit the popular notion that we are all equal in death. There, well admire the ornate mausoleums and funeral monuments by famed architects and artists, and well pay a visit to the final resting place of Eva Peron, whose presence in the Cemetery is utterly ironic, considered she championed the poor and the humble against her hated, oligarchs. • Next to the Cemetery, we find the Basilica de Nuestra Senora del Pilar, the second oldest in Buenos Aires. • We then walk across Alvear Avenue, a true slice of Paris in Buenos Aires. • Brief visit to the National Museum of Fine Arts, where an important collection of paintings belonging both to Argentinean and European artists is displayed. • Then we will continue towards the Museum of Decorative Art, a spectacular French mansion built in 1918, which houses an important collection. • Continue towards Palermo neighbourhood, characterized by its elegant mansions surrounded by green areas. • Visit 3 de Febrero Park, the National Library and the Law School. • At night, tango dinner show at Tango Porteno. 2. Day 2 · Buenos Aires

   Activities: • In the morning, city tour, starting at the Colon Theatre, considered one of the best opera houses in the world for its perfect acoustics. • Join a guided visit to the theatre (1.5 hours). It first opened in 1908, with Verdi’s Aida opera. All the scenery, costumes and shoes are made in the theatre’s own workshop; it is also the headquarter of both the permanent Ballet of the Colon Theatre and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires. • The visit will continue along Avenida 9 de Julio, Corrientes Avenue, the Obelisk and on to the picturesque district of La Boca, where there is the famous Caminito street. There, many artists exhibit their works, which themes are related to the influence of European immigrants (mainly Italians), who arrived at the end of the XIX century. One of the most renowned Argentine artists was Benito Quinquela Martin, who lived in La Boca, and painted about this particular neighbourhood and the port. His atelier is nowadays a Museum named after him. • Lunch included, then we will continue with a walking tour of Montserrat and San Telmo, visiting the most important square in the city, Plaza de Mayo (May Square), the Pink House, the Cabildo (old town City Hall), and the Metropolitan Cathedral. • Later on we will arrive at San Telmo’s neighbourhood, which keeps its architectonic heritage untouched, like the colonial houses and cobbled streets. • A fair of antiques takes place in Plaza Dorrego every Sunday. 3. Day 3 · Buenos Aires

   Activities: • Enjoy a full day visit to Estancia El Ombu de Areco, a traditional ranch in San Antonio de Areco, 110 km (68 miles) from the city. • In El Ombu de Areco you will enjoy a delicious and traditional “asado criollo” (Argentine barbecue). • The rest of the afternoon is at leisure, you can choose to spend it either at the swimming pool, enjoying a drive on sulky, or strolling around the place. 4. Day 4 · Buenos Aires

   Activities: • In the morning, we will take a visit to the ancient tunnels of the city located in San Telmo area, the story of them is exciting: its origin is located in the “third” or ditches crossing the small colonial village. To avoid repeated floods and later by municipal regulations covering these ditches went, leaving as a result the tunnels we know today. It is believed that through them could reach the July 9. 5. Day 5 · Buenos Aires

   Depart Buenos Aires

   Activities: Visit the MALBA, Buenos Aires Latin-American Art Museum. This modern building hosts the Constantini Collection permanently and reflects the development of Latin-American paintings and sculptures throughout its 222 pieces of XX century art. After the visit free time to enjoy a cup of tea at the museum’s coffee shop.
