Overview
Kannauj, on the banks of the Ganga, has been the heart of India's perfumery for centuries. Its attars of rose, jasmine, vetiver and kewra are still crafted by hand using ancient methods, including the famous mitti attar, which captures the scent of rain on dry earth.
Guests visit workshops where attars are made, meet master perfumers who carry generations of knowledge, and explore markets filled with natural oils and incense.
