Overview
An adventurous five-day Inca Trail journey through the Peruvian Andes, combining multi-day trekking, archaeological sites and the iconic Machu Picchu with overnight camping along the trail.
The journey begins in Cusco before trekking from Piskacucho through Yunkachimpa, crossing the Warmiwanuska pass at 4,200 metres and continuing through Runkurakay, Chaq'icocha and Winaywayna. Along the route, travellers visit archaeological sites including Llactapata, Runkurakay, Sayacmarka and Phuyupatamarka. The final trek leads to Machu Picchu via Intipunku, followed by a night in Aguas Calientes. The final day includes a visit to Machu Picchu, an optional hike to Huaynapicchu and a late-afternoon train back to Cusco. Accommodation consists of camping at the specified trail campsites, with Aguas Calientes accommodation also provided for the final night.

The itinerary
Day 1 · Cusco
Arrive Cusco - Piskacucho - Yunkachimpa
Upon arrival at airport in Peru, you will be warmly met by a representative, who will provide assistance and transfer to your accommodation to check-in. Activities: • Depart from Cusco and go on to Urubamba where you’ll have a brief stop, then on to Chillca to start the trekking. • Have lunch in Miskay with an additional rest of a half hour there after start your trek to the first campsite. • Along the way you will visit the archeological site called Llactapata. Yunkachimpa - Warmiwanuska - Runkurakay
Activities: • You will have breakfast early and start trekking to the highest point of the Inca Trail, where you can see different ecological zones and enjoy changing climates. • Cross the Warmiwanuska pass at 4200 meters above sea level. • After lunch continue on to the campsite at Paqaymayo and enjoy dinner and a well deserved rest. Overnight: Camp in Runkurakay – (B, L, D)

Runkurakay - Chaq'icocha - Winaywayna
Activities: • Walk approximately 45 minutes up to reach the second pass at 3850 meters above sea level and visit Runkurakay along the way. • Visit the Sayacmarka archeological group and then go on to the Phuyupatamarka ruins. • After lunch head to Winaywayna where you will spend your last night. Winaywayna - Machu Picchu
Activities: • After an early Breakfast, start on the final leg of the trek to Machu Picchu. • Arrive at Intipunku where you will have a panoramic view of the Machu Picchu citadel. After a short hike down to Machu Picchu, register and start on our 3 hour guided visit. • After touring the remains, you will be transferred back to the picturesque town of Aguas Calientes where you spend the night. Machu Picchu - Huayna Picchu - Cusco
Activities: Early morning rise and after breakfast take a bus up to visit the lost city of Machu Picchu. An optional hike for the more dynamic persons in the group would be to hike up to Huaynapicchu, the pyramid shape peak that overlooks Machu Picchu.
